Get Ready!

Ok, this post isn’t ‘as usual’. It’s different, it’s unconventional and it’s perhaps, not what you were expecting. But then, remember what BFT is all about – a place for believers who serve God exclusively; where we can talk candidly about the stuff going on in Church and in our lives and equally as important, where we tell the truth.

BFT turned two yesterday, and as I pondered on how the vision- its conception, birth, purpose, and course, I was grateful for how far God has brought us, yes but I still felt somewhat ‘low’ that we are not where I envisioned us to be at this time. So I began to ask God, what He would have me say this week. Yeah, I do this every week because I only want to go as far as God would allow. Like I say all the time, BFT has never been for what sells, it’s all about what God is saying to the Church or to that one person whose turn it is.  But then, I digress. I wanted something mind-blowing, an epic story or something to commemorate our anniversary but when God spoke, I was like, “Uhn uhn… this isn’t epic now,” but He was insistent. REMIND THEM ABOUT THE RAPTURE. TELL THEM THAT I’M COMING BACK.

Ok, two quick questions.

  1. When last did you hear a message about Christ’s second coming? About the rapture? You know, we get to hear messages like, “Power is yours”, “The riches of the Gentiles etc. Don’t get me wrong please; there’s absolutely nothing wrong with all of that, but we must of necessity, balance it out. The issue is that right now, it seems the Church has forgotten that although we are in the world, we are not of the world. As they say, the Church has become worldly and the world, Churchy. Its right now about being, ‘religious’.

“Got religion?” They ask.

“Heck, no! I’ve got Jesus!”

In the last two weeks, I have heard of at least seven deaths; some young, others middle aged. At the time I heard of one, I was in a little misunderstanding with my husband. Yeah, yeah. I do have some of that too. Anyway, in the light of my friend’s death, everything else just seemed so trifling and frivolous. My friend loved the Lord passionately and was involved in lots of missions – bringing men into the light of Christ. His death hit me hard and all I could think of was, ‘if the rapture takes place now or if I die right now, will I make heaven? Will I get to see God whom I’ve loved so much and served passionately?’ You see, a while ago I got to understand that the day you die is your own rapture; so at every point, you’ve got to be ready. God isn’t going to say, “Awwww…I know just how stressful marriage can be, so I’m going to let you in with all of your anger, resentment and forgiveness, or I know how hard the corporate world is, come on in my son, with your baggage of compromises, welcome to my rest.” Why? cause Scriptures say,

Nevertheless, the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. – 2 Tim 2:19

We’ve become complacent; really engrossed in making money, building houses, buying cars and stuff. Again I say, nothing wrong in doing all of that but while laying these treasures here, we need to ask ourselves, how much treasure we have laid for ourselves in heaven.

This would bring us to our second question.

  1. When last did you tell someone about Jesus, his love, His saving grace and His return? There are so many ways to witness. The most important being, your life style. No matter how many messages you preach, if your light isn’t shinning, you are wasting your time. Preach the word, do the word! I know that the question, ‘What Would Jesus Do?’ is becoming somewhat outdated but we should bring it back. It is the ultimate guide. Share tracts if you can, write on your social media walls if you want but whatever you do, please tell someone about Christ –
As it is written in Romans 10:

14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? 15 How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD

And again, Ezekiel 3:

18 “When I say to the wicked, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way that he may live, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. 19 “Yet if you have warned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered yourself…(NASB)

You heard the word and received Him, share the word that others too may believe and be saved. Let us do this together. He is counting on us.

Yes, Lord, I’ve done as you instructed. Now, please take control and light the fire in our hearts again.

If you are born-again and yet living in sin, seek help. You can overcome. If you are reading this right now and you are not born-again, receive Jesus into your life and let Him take control. I made the decision twenty years ago and I haven’t regretted it. Thank you guys for two years of BFT. Thank you for stopping by even when I was ‘off’, thank you for the testimonies, the comments, the likes, the shares, the messages, the calls and every single thing. God bless you immensely. Let’s do another year together and more if Jesus tarries, that is. I love you guys and I’m grateful for your presence and your support. If this is your first time here, you are so welcome. There’s a post/story for almost every issue. Read through, be blessed.

If you need me, please holler.

In His love,
